Old Christmas Holiday Celebrations
It is quite possible that Christmas is the oldest holiday shared among the many cultures of the world; It is traditionally celebrated during the winter season (or even the warm summer season if you consider Australia, where Christmas is celebrated as an official holiday).

Saturnalia is a celebration of the winter solstice that occurred in ancient pagan Rome. Saturnalia were celebrated in honor of the god of agriculture, called Saturn. Servants and peasants attend and celebrate the festival with the people of the upper middle class, which was then a rarity.
The Saturnalia festival itself can last up to a whole week in Rome. During that time, people rejoiced throughout the country of Rome. The phrase eat, drink and enjoy has been best interpreted. Shops and businesses are closed during the Saturnalia Festival. After the first week of Saturnalia, the festival itself usually ends, but the Saturnalia period itself does not end.
In addition to Saturn, the Roman god of agriculture, the Romans also worshiped a child god named Metra, carved in the rock. On Mithra's birthday, people also rejoiced, just like during the Saturnalia. The birthday of this rock god was one of the holiest days of the year for the Roman people. It was a time of celebration and union, and for the family.
